Meet
Kevin Swift
Kevin's father, Russell
D. Swift, was born on November 1, 1917--the historical moment of the Balfour
Declaration, which would promote the
establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. The Balfour
Declaration would later be recognized as the British instrument
through which the foundation was laid for the birth of the state
of Israel that would occur thirty-one years later on May 14, 1948.
Russell Swift sold his farm
equipment in his mid-30's to follow his call to ministry, and moved his family from
Bloomfield, Iowa to Springfield, Missouri to attend Baptist Bible College.
While there, Kevin was born on January 30, 1956 into this large
family--the eighth and youngest son out of nine children. The family moved back to Iowa, where
Russell would pastor churches in Unionville, Cedar Rapids, and Mark, Iowa.
In 1968, he would take a ministerial position with the Abilene Bible Baptist
Church in Abilene, Kansas--the hometown and final resting place of
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and the sunflower state became the
permanent residence for the Swift family. Kevin
finished secondary education in Abilene, and then moved to Topeka in 1974.
As a minister's son, Kevin was
taught the Word of God from childhood and was involved in church
ministry. However, at a young age he had questions about
church doctrines, and in his late teens Kevin began his own
intensive study of the Scriptures. He wanted to know for
himself what the Scriptures taught, and why he believed what he
believed.
As Kevin examined the Word of God
his personal views expanded. He saw the validity of the
seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath, which God instituted the first
week of creation (Genesis
2:2-3)--the
forgotten day, which God said to always "Remember"
(Exodus
20:8-11). He also understood for the first time God's
merciful end of all sin and sinners (Malachi
4:1-3; 2
Peter 3:5-7) in God's consuming fire, that will eliminate all human
suffering, death, mourning and crying, which will all pass away from our universe (Revelation
21:4). In 1980, at age 24, Kevin determined to honor the
Sabbath day. In doing so, he had to choose between keeping God's
Commandments or keeping his job; he chose God's day of rest.
He found the Seventh-day Adventist faith most closely reflected
his personal beliefs, and in his mid-20's he and his young family joined and spent
several years in Conference work in Kansas, Nebraska and North
Dakota. Although at the time his father challenged Kevin's
decision, in later years Russell Swift accepted and taught
the seventh-day rest to his Baptist congregation. Both his
father and mother are now awaiting the call of God at the great
resurrection.
During a time of fasting and prayer
in 1982, God showed Himself in a miraculous way in answer to prayer for direction in
his life. In response, Kevin committed to God that if He ever had a message to
deliver to others--whether to a few or many--he
would be willing to convey that message. Kevin continued to teach and to
study the Scriptures.
In the 1980's there was a small but emerging movement within the
Adventist faith that was challenging the historicist view,
which teaches the majority of Daniel and Revelation's prophecies,
and all of the prophetic time periods, have already been fulfilled
in past historical events. In the summer of 1990, an
Adventist friend shared several video presentations from Charles
Wheeling of Countdown Ministry & Inspiration Books suggesting
a
Western conflict against Iraq and Iran would initiate end-time
events (Lesson
8), and Daniel's major time periods might hold
"last-day" fulfillments. However, it was yet unclear to prophecy students just how the time
prophecies might fit together, and how events would be played out
at the end of time. Even though a Bible teacher, Kevin realized he
still had much more to learn about the books of Daniel and
Revelation, and God's prophetic plan for the end of the age.
Kevin began to delve into the timelines and events of Daniel and Revelation.
He developed a chart using all of the timelines, which he believed followed the chronological pattern of
Bible prophecy. He first presented his findings in January 1991 at a Prophecy Seminar in Michigan, which he would
later improve and expand. A couple of years later, the importance of
God's Festivals in relation to final events began to sink in.
Comparing the timelines to God's Festivals, it was discovered the
end-time chart developed earlier fit between the
spring and fall Biblical holy days to the day over a three and
one-half year period. Knowing that God's
Festivals shift on the Gregorian calendar from year to year, Kevin knew the match could not be a mere coincidence.
Progress has been made over the last decade in further
understanding final events, and what has emerged is the Appointed
Times & Seasons Calendar that you see today.
In the early 90's, Kevin continued
to teach at the Adventist Church where members and local
Conference leaders joined in lively discussion. As the
opportunity arose, he shared his views and was invited to friendly
discussion over Bible prophecy with several church leaders,
theologians and college professors. Kevin also sent letters
to the local church leadership and General Conference, as well as the Biblical
Research Institute, urging Adventists to investigate
contradictions in their prophetic views. However, Adventists
have long taught the historicist view with emphasis on an 1844
fulfillment of the Daniel
8:14 timeline, and there remains to this day little interest
in considering how the timelines of prophecy might, in reality, be
fulfilled in the last days--just as they read in the Scriptures...
as literal 24 hour days.
Saddened by the church leaderships'
reluctance to face contradictions between the founders' views and
the Word of God, by the mid-90's Kevin dropped membership from the Adventist Church.
Church traditions have plagued established religions in every age,
so much so that God has nearly always bypassed the institutions of
higher learning to reveal His unfolding plan of redemption to the
curious and uneducated (Matthew
21:15-16; Matthew
11:25).
Kevin was blessed with God's prophetic call
on his life during the early morning hours of April 11, 2004, when he
received a dream, followed by a visitation by the One whom all Scriptures have been written--the
Spirit of Truth, the I
AM. Prophetic events are drawing very close now, so it is time to
share the prophetic calling he received.
Not for any self-advancement, but with the sincere hope it will
bring greater attention to the insights posted on this website and
to the Appointed Times & Seasons Calendar. It's been a
solitary journey the last two decades, but in Christ there can be
miracles when you believe. By God's grace, the miracle of the
Appointed Times & Seasons Calendar meeting its fulfillment on
schedule will now lead thousands more to believe in the soon
coming King and His eternal Kingdom, and offer hope that we might
endure the trials that are before us for the short time that
remains. What Christ sealed over
2,000 years ago is now unsealed by the same power and promise of
God (Daniel
12:4, 9-12), for His divine purposes and for His Son's eternal
glory.
Kevin maintains close friendships
across denominational boundaries and has
taught prophecy in Adventist, Baptist,
Church of God, Nazarene, Messianic and non-denominational circles, while his
online resources have been viewed by thousands around the globe of all walks of
faith. He has written 30
lesson guides on Daniel and Revelation called
Insights
in Prophecy, which connects the ancient prophecies to modern-day events.
His eBook, Miraculous
Evidence the End is Near,
is available
here online and through Amazon
in Kindle format; and, a paperback edition is soon to be released.
Kevin has been a successful business owner and
REALTORŪ for the last 25 years. For the last nine years, Kevin has served on the
Board of
Directors of the Topeka Rescue Mission--a ministry that in
2011 sheltered 2,201 different individuals, including 1,188 men, 661 women, and
352 children, for a total of 95,658 nights. The mission also served or
distributed a record total of 524,585 meals in 2011.
